Taking a Break

Won't be birding for a while since I got into a car accident on the 19th and totaled my car. (Granted, it doesn't take much to total a '96 Tercel.) I suppose it's sort of a blessing in disguise, since these days I've got plenty I need to think about and figure out. Academically, I need to make a major decision- do I repeat a year of classes in a major I'm not sure about or switch to something new? Hope it won't be too long until I bird again.

At least I have our family's week-long vacation in August to look forward to: renting a house in RI that's right next to a Wildlife Refuge :)

So, I'm relying on all of you to have fantastic birding adventures so that I can vicariously bird through you! :-P

  1. Sorry to hear about the demise of your Tercel Amanda, but hope you are OK?
I'm sure we will all try to keep you entertained while you decide the road ahead.

  2. Sorry to hear about your car. At least you are OK.

  3. Damn..that sucks...sorry about the accident! Hope u weren't injured!
    Birding..something related to birding!

  4. Yikes - sorry to hear about the accident, but glad that you are ok.

On the birding front, never fear - there are always birds.

  5. Thanks everyone, and yes, I'm okay-no whiplash, and my airbags didn't even deploy. Already looking at cars, hopefully a used corolla will be my next chariot.

  6. You're okay and that's the important thing. Glad you saw the MIKI - I made a couple of trips last summer for the bird, but haven't had a chance this year. Look for birding close to home - surprising what we see when we just sit. I do a lot of that in my backyard - "research" I tell people. All kinds of kids have been around demanding food from their parents today.

  7. howdee...thought I would update you on this outing in Ct. if u are interested..I know there may be a few coming from MA that could possibly give ride..or u could take a train to one of several areas.
let me know if it is possible for u.
